Checking…This is not a list of surf breaks. It is worked out from the shape of the coast: how much of the horizon at each beach is open sea for four hundred kilometres, which is the fetch groundswell needs to build. It knows nothing about sandbanks, reefs, which tide a spot works on, or where the rips run. A great break may be missing and a listed beach may be unsurfable today.
The swell figures come from a model of the open sea on a grid of several kilometres, so two beaches near each other often share one reading, and any beach more than twelve kilometres from the nearest point the model holds is given nothing at all rather than a number about somewhere else. That includes some well known breaks.
